With this motivating educational concept, young people learn by intuition to creatively experiment with simple means and to think in a problem-oriented way.

The objective

Bionics4Education is an innovative modular system with a digital learning environment; with its bionic approach, it addresses young people aged 14 to 18.

Equipment

The learning kit contains basic materials and accessories for the construction of a model fish, a chameleon gripper and an elephant’s trunk with an adaptive gripper. The main sensor and control technology elements are already included, so that assembly can begin straight away. The students’ task is to combine the provided components with materials and objects of their own choice.

Learning environment

The hardware is supplemented by a digital learning environment: information material, biological background knowledge, animations and educational videos with tips and practical guides can be accessed at bionics4education.com. Software codes and CAD data for producing components on a 3D printer can also be downloaded free of charge.

STEM

Bionics transforms theory into simple practice. The interdisciplinary teaching materials can be used in everyday school lessons, on project days or at individual events. The holistic educational concept also provides orientation for the so-called STEM vocations: (computer) science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
