The idea

The biological transformation process is accompanied by an innovative learning system in the field of education.

The objective

The Learning Reactor is a modular system for vocational training in biomechatronics. It is used to convey technical and scientific fundamentals in keeping with the principles of a circular economy.

Technical data

• Learning hardware: bioreactor with sensors, control cabinet, electrical elements
• Learning software: prototype based on the Festo LX learning platform
• Carrier system: 5 modules

Function

The system consists of a bioreactor for cultivating yeast along with functions for taking samples. The measured values are automatically displayed by means of sensors. The learning software links biology, technology and software – the subject areas relevant to biological transformation. The five modules that make up the learning system can be extended and combined with further modules as required.
