The idea

A series product was developed based on the bionic principle of the fish’s fin.

The functional design of the adaptive gripper DHDG, which is available in three sizes, is based on the Fin Ray effect.

Functional principle

The DHDG gripper is characterised by its bionic design based on the Fin Ray effect. Inspired by the structure of a fish’s fin, it demonstrates adaptation. This principle enables sensitive and irregularly shaped objects to be securely but gently grasped. The gripper is manufactured from polyamide using selective laser sintering; this ensures lightness and flexibility.
