The idea

As a third hand, this learning robotic system shows how work processes can be made easier for humans.

The objective

Modular lightweight handling is a variable system for use in basic and advanced training.

Technical data

  • Payload: max. 600 g
  • Tare weight: 4200 g
  • Working space: max. 60 cm
  • Degrees of freedom: 6
  • Repeat accuracy: ± 2/10 mm

Operating principle

In combination with the modular lightweight handling unit, the product range of Festo allows the construction of an angle picker, a tripod and a six-axis articulated arm kinematics unit. The system supports technical learning using real industrial components; its target groups are school pupils, trainees and students.

Range of applications

With its simple design, this educational robot system is suitable for basic and advanced industrial training – especially involving pick-and-place tasks, automation of laboratory processes and assistance in the field of service robotics.

Safety

The low weight of the modular lightweight handling unit ensures safe kinematics in human-machine cooperation.
